For a detached garage with a clean and understated appearance, we installed a side sliding garage door. The door is clad with Millboard, a low maintenance material with the appearance of real wood. It combines the warm look of timber with the convenience of minimal upkeep.
The garage door has an impressive width of almost 5 metres and consists of nine sections. It is finished with vertical Millboard boards featuring subtle depth variations, adding an extra layer of detail to the façade. Millboard is a low maintenance material with a realistic wood grain texture and retains its appearance for years without requiring maintenance.
On the inside, the door slides neatly along the wall, leaving the ceiling completely free. This provides additional flexibility for lighting, storage or other installations.
Despite its maintenance free properties, Millboard offers the same warm and natural appearance that you would expect from real wood.
When the garage door is closed, it is barely noticeable as a garage door. The sections blend seamlessly into the façade.
