Afrormosia pivot door and sectional doors
For this home in a rural setting, Different Doors created three bespoke doors in afrormosia: two sectional garage doors for the garage and one large pivot door as the main entrance to the house.
Material, craftmanship and technology
All three doors are clad in afrormosia, a wood species with a warm golden-brown tone and a distinctive natural grain pattern. The vertical slats emphasize the height of each door, creating a calm yet powerful presence. The two sectional garage doors are identical, each measuring 3 metres wide and 2.9 metres high, opening upwards. The pivot door measures nearly 2 metres wide and 3 metres high and is equipped with a FritsJurgens pivot system. This allows the door to rotate effortlessly on its axis, even at this impressive scale. The interior side of the pivot door is finished in the same afrormosia wood, ensuring the material remains visible on both sides. The door is connected to the home’s smart system and can be electrically locked. The homeowners opted for a keypad on the exterior, while the door can always be opened manually from the inside, even in case of a power outage.

Welcoming entrance
The pivot door immediately draws attention upon entering the property. It is a door that signals arrival. Generous in scale, calm in appearance and warm in tone. Guests are welcomed through it, while residents pass through it every day when returning home.
Electric lock
The pivot door is connected to the home automation system and can be electrically locked.
Stylish on the inside
The interior of the pivot door is finished in the same afrormosia wood as the exterior.
