In the heart of the historic city centre of Gorinchem you will find an exclusive Different Doors garage door. Or rather, you won’t find it. This door is fully integrated into the facade and invisible to those who do not know it is there. It has been designed entirely in line with the requirements of the heritage and planning authorities, a challenge in which we excel.
This monumental property was sold with two parking spaces. However, there was no space left in the city centre of Gorinchem. The solution? A garage within the building itself. On one condition: the historic façade needed to remain intact. A project that demanded precision and craftsmanship. This is exactly where Different Doors makes the difference. The garage door was fully custom designed, with an appearance that perfectly reflects the original façade. Even the white columns have been recreated in detail using advanced 3D scanning and traditional woodworking techniques. The result is a garage door that blends into the façade and only reveals itself when it opens. An entrance that exceeds expectations. Expect the Unexpected.
This garage door takes the idea of invisibility to a new level. People walk past it without noticing what lies behind it, right up to the moment the door opens and draws all attention.
Even the smallest details of the original concrete columns have been carefully integrated into the wooden door.
So inconspicuous, in fact, that even the local council got in touch later to ask when the garage door would be installed. The surprising answer? It had already been in place for months. Exactly as intended.
